A few months ago in September, the badass, dreamy powerhouse Bash & Pop released a new single titled “Too Late” which featured crisp, molasses vocals of Nicole Atkins. Today, in support of their partnership with Nicole Atkins, Bash & Pop have decidedly released second single titled “Saturday”. Both songs are to be featured on a limited edition 7” vinyl as soon as November 24th through Mississippi’s very own Fat Possum Records, but if you can’t wait for the pressed wax, then wait no more! You can stream or purchase Bash & Pop’s “Too Late” featuring Nicole Atkins here. To pre-order the limited edition 7” vinyl visit here.

Unlike “Too Late”, “Saturday” opens up with an acoustic guitar and the soulful voice of singer Tommy Stinson. Shortly after the intro, the full band, along with a string section, join in on the music while Stinson and Atkins sing together like old friends. You can almost see them singing to each other.

Before this collaboration with Nicole Atkins, though, Bash & Pop released the full-length album Anything Could Happen which received an insane amount of praise across the board. Buzz surrounding the new album of January 2017 included 3 in-depth articles from sites and magazines such as Esquire, Rolling Stone, and Bandcamp. Bash & Pop also appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in support of Anything Could Happen.

2017 was an amazing year for Atkins, too. She released her fourth studio recorded album Goodnight Rhonda Lee which was hailed by publications such as Time Magazine and The New York Times and led her to multiple late night stages like Letterman and Conan. Atkins fourth album is a collection of music that visits soul music of the 20th century, holding inspirations from musicians like Dusty Springfield and Janis Joplin. Nicole Atkins is currently on an exclusive worldwide tour.

Jeremy Bacharach: Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy has always been a lover of music. After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves.
