The Dust Brothers Announce Screening of Fight Club with Live Score and Acrobatic Stunt Performance

Hearing a live performance from The Dust Brothers is like finding a four leaf clover. However, on May 19th, the luck of the Irish is in full effect for fans. The experimental duo will give a special live performance of their Fight Club soundtrack at The Wiltern Theater. The performance will be set to a live screening of the cult-classic.

The Dust Brothers, aka E.Z Mike (Michael Simpson) and King Gizmo (John King), developed a experimental, sample-based style of the music in the 80s and 90s. They worked on only a handful of albums with The Beastie Boys, Beck, Hanson and most famously, created the soundtrack for the film Fight Club. Directed by David Fincher, the movie tells the story of an insomniac and a bored soap-maker who get involved in an underground club. Fincher looked to make an unconventional score with a novice group that had a fresh eye. He initially sought out Radiohead, but eventually turned to the unique duo to create a post-modern sonic playground for the film. The soundtrack features samples, scratches, and drum loops to create a frenzied album that mirrors the violence and chaos that occurs in the movie.

The Dust Brothers will be joined by the composer Zoë Poledouris-Roche (Conan The Barbarian, Bully) along with various instrumentalists. Along with the groundbreaking music performance, fight coordinator, Henry Layton, will stage an acrobatic stunt stint. Fans 18 plus can purchase tickets online at TicketMaster or on The Wiltern’s website. Presale tickets will be sold from November 15th at 10 AM to November 16th at 10 AM (Code: DUSTBROS). General Sale will begin immediately afterwards.
