Former live bass guitarist for Puscifer (on the last few tours), producer and engineer of the industrial metal band Ministry, Paul Barker also has a side project Lead Into Gold to go along with the rest of his musical achievements. This was just one of the several Ministry side projects in the Wax Trax heyday, active since 1988. Only, this one was one that was based on Paul Barker and only sparsely had Al Jourgensen–founder and frontman of Ministry–involved in it at all. Lead Into Gold has announced two new tracks on a 12-inch vinyl “A Savage Gift” and “Inside a Golden Sun.” They were known for their album Age of Reason and a smash single “Faster Than Light,” in which Barker wrote and sang each cut on the full-length Age of Reason, as well as the extended singles, “Faster Than Light,” “Idiot,” and “Chicks and Speed: Futurism.”
In 2015, Lead Into Gold came out with Low & Slow, originally made in 1991 but was ultimately unreleased due to label complications, leaving “A Savage Gift” and “Inside a Golden Sun” 12-inch vinyl to mark their first new music in 25 years.
