Holy Wars Release Passionate New Video for “Mother Father”

Kat Leon aka Holy Wars just dropped new music video for “Mother Father,” a heart-rending accolade to her late parents. “Mother Father” is the title track to the bands’ debut album that came out November 3rd, a more tranquil and heavy song compared to the rest of the albums dark alt-rock sound. In 2015, the Connecticut native songwriter was frontwoman for the buzzing L.A. indie band Sad Robot, collaborating with musician Nick Perez on the project. She lost her parents that same year, and for a while her music stopped before making her return in early 2017, emerging as an artist evolved by grief and loss.

Leon sings from the soul in the five minute video that samples audio clips from some of the last voicemails she received from her parents before their unexpected passing, as well as vintage clips of them during their teenage years. See “Mother Father” below.

I composed music for a few months in college while living in New York which further sparked my passion for a career in the music industry. Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
