Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O’Donovan Join To Form I’m With Her and Announce Debut Album See You Around for February 2018 Release
Today, November 9th, Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O’Donovan of the band I’m With Her announced in a press release about their new debut album titled See You Around, which will be released on February 16, 2018. If you want to assure you will get a copy right away, you can pre-order the album right from their store. You can also pre-order the album digitally on Spotify, Amazon, and iTunes. Their title track, “See You Around”, is currently available on all digital platforms, as well.
I’m With Her’s debut album was recorded in Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios located in Baths, England and is co-produced by all of the band members alongside Ethan Johns (Paul McCartney, Ryan Adams). See You Around holds 12 tracks, each filled with the colorful harmonies of the trio. See the tracklist below.
To support their forthcoming album, I’m With Her has announced a world tour that will begin in early 2018, which includes cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and London. See their full tour schedule here.
See You Around’s warm and cozy atmosphere comforted with the golden harmonies of the trio and their guitar fill the album with 11 original songs, all of which were recorded in Los Angeles and Vermont. The final song, however, is a never-been-released song by Gillian Welch titled “Hundred Miles.” Aside from the lush vocals and guitar there is also the use of a fiddle violin and ukulele by Watkins. Jarosz will sometimes carry mandolin and banjo while O’Donovan plays piano or a synthesizer. Unlike a more traditional recording setting featuring isolated booths and separate rooms for the musicians to record in, I’m With Her decided on a live approach, playing together in the tracking room. Throughout this album lingers a beautiful image that is brought on by their well-crafted lyricism and brilliant musicianship.
Even though Watkins, Jarosz, and O’Donovan have individually released their own projects on tope of winning Grammy Awards of their own, I’m With Her formed out of an accident. While attending the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the trio were brought together and performed off-hand.
In a statement I’m With Her says, “We all feel immensely fortunate to be in this band together. As longtime friends and fans of each other’s music, it’s been wonderful to realize that writing and collaborating together fits so seamlessly […]”.
