Black Rebel Motorcycle Club has just release their third single for their upcoming album, Wrong Creatures. The single titled, “Question of Faith,” sounds like something off the Apocalypse Now Soundtrack. It is a droning song that slowly but surely reaches its destination. It is full of bent notes, distorted guitar riffs, and chilling lyrics. The psychedelic thriller would fit in on any Doors or Grateful Dead 70s album (it’s not surprising that the group also originates in San Francisco). The band may be questioning their faith, but fans are not likely to question their devotion to the group after this hit.

The band took some time off to recuperate after a draining tour and serious operation. Leah Shapiro (drums), who replaced Nick Jago in 2007, was forced to step back from music when doctors found Chiari Malformations in her brain. After undergoing surgery in 2014, the band stayed off the grid for bit. Now they are back though, and are set to release a new album on Jnaruy 12th. The album will be their follow up to their 2013 project Specter At the Feast. So far, the band has released “Little Thing Gone Wild,” and “Haunt.” The first is an upbeat hit with hard hitting bass strokes and compelling guitar riffs. The second is a slow and melodic seance that is aptly haunting, but also hopeful.

Bandmates and creators of the group, Robert Levon Been and Peter Hayes will join Shapiro on tour starting January 15th. They will also play at Noise Pop Festival in February.
