Glen Hansard is known for being the vocalist and guitarist for Irish group The Frames, and one half of folk rock duo The Swell Season. He has launched a solo career by releasing two modest albums in 2015. Now the talented Irish musician has released new song “Wheels on Fire,” according to NPR. The song is off of his new album Beyond Two Shores out January 19 via Anti.

“Wheels on Fire” is boisterous and immersed with horns and organs, while the objectivity of the song is layered with Hansard’s positive attitude toward the resistance of an unnamed ruler.  Hansard simmers “I won’t be no puppet on a string,” projecting a strong essence of resilient energy. I composed music for a few months in college while living in New York which further sparked my passion for a career in the music industry. Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
