Tiesto @ Aragon Ballroom (12/23)

Easily one of the biggest names in electronic music today, the sensation known as Tiesto brings his extensive catalog of hits, and his lively energy to the Aragon Ballroom this December.

Tijs Michiel Verwest is a Dutch DJ and record producer born in the Netherlands in 1969. He has pioneered and carved his own lane in the electronic music scene ever since he began DJing at school parties when he was fourteen. Tiesto has been active in the music scene since 1994, and after years of residencies in the Netherlands, creating the label Black Hole Recordings, and releasing an immense catalog of music, most consider him to be the “Godfather of EDM”. Now, Tiesto has been all over the world countless times, rocking crowds filled with millions of fans by performing at festivals such as Ultra, Coachella, Tomorrowland, as well as a residency in Las Vegas.

Today, Tiesto is considered one of the greatest EDM DJs of all time, with a vast discography that is almost endless. This inventory of hits and mixes is categorized as progressive/future house in the Electronic Dance Music world. This music consists of thumping bass, and repeating melodic synths accompanied by the occasional lyrical hooks. Essentially, each of Tiesto’s dancefloor-ready tracks build up tension towards a climax or a chorus, and are followed by a beat drop. While almost every artist uses this formula, it has been made most popular by Tiesto, and can be heard on smash hits such as “Red Lights”, “Carry You Home”, and “On My Way”.

Innovator, consistent, longevity, these all perfectly describe one of the world’s leading DJs in EDM. During his fruitful career filled with five studio albums, 5 remix albums, 6 compilation albums, and 44 singles, Tiesto is truly synonymous with stellar EDM music, and brings his masterful art to the Aragon this Winter for a must-see performance.
