It took the Industrial metal band Godflesh 13 years to release their very solid studio album. A World Lit Only By Fire came out in October 2014 but luckily for fans, it only took them 3 years to finish their latest one. Now fans are only two weeks away until the band releases their brand new album, Post Self which drops on November 17th. Justin K. Broadrick, frontman of Godflesh will do the honor through his own Avalanche Recordings.
There is a bit of a change as fans will find out when the album is released next month. The album is expected to explore another side of Godflesh, the less metal side taking influences from late 70s/early 80s post-punk and industrial. The themes within A World Lit Only By Fire will include anxiety, depression, fear, mortality, and both paternal/maternal relationships.
Today, Godflesh shared the title track from the album which shows off the many sides of the band with its crushing sounds. The heavy beat is consistent throughout it’s four minute track. Though there are claims that the new album will steer towards a less metal sound for the band, the title track still sounds as metal as they come.
