For the past 4 years, London indie rock group Shopping has been making a name for themselves by creating post punk music with a message that makes you want to dance. That’s not to say that they are a politically conscious group with plans to save the world, but albums such as Consumer Complaints and Why Choose show that the UK rockers make music that grooves empty souls to get up dance it away on the dance floor and it seems as if the London trio plans on doing just that starting next year.
According to Pitchfork, Shopping announced that the arrival of their third upcoming album The Official Body will be early next year on January 17th. And while Shopping fans await the arrival of the new album, the punk trio has also shared their brand new single, “The Hype.” “The Hype” music video is directed by Billy Easter and Jack Barraclough, who record shots of Shopping rocking out at a pool party. It way Easter and Barraclough show Shopping in their element, using funky guitars that scamper throughout the song making people get on their feet and dance while planting awakening lines “I heard you say/They teach us procrastination/They teach us indecision,” in the listeners ear at the same time.
