Every show Metallica puts on is definitely a performance worth seeing, but this past weekend in Manchester was something special. During an interlude On Friday Oct. 28 at the Manchester Arena after “Halo On Fire,” a single from their newest album, the group began to perform Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” a song that became significant to the city following the bombing that occurred at the same venue during an Ariana Grande concert five months prior.
Lars Ulrich of Metallica posted a special moment on his Twitter page where everyone in the stadium began to sing along with them, which he said “gave him goosebumbs.”.
During a moment of silence at a vigil in Manchester’s St. Ann’s Square to mourn after the attack, one person began singing “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” and seemingly everyone on the grounds began to sing along.
The recent bombing in Manchester took 23 lives and injured a number of others.
