Morrissey Marries Synth and Crunchy Bass in New Song “I Wish You Lonely”

It’s less than a week before Morrissey drops his new album, Low in High School. To make sure you didn’t’ forget, Morrissey released a new single from the album entitled “I Wish You Lonely.”

The new track marries synth and crushing bass. “Tombs are full of fools who gave their lives upon command of monarchs, oligarchs, heads of state, and potentate,” Morrissey rages. The lyric video begins with the image of a young boy sitting in a shopping cart with a sign that reads “my parents are a handful.” In Morrissey’s new song, selfishness can be a means of self-preservation.

Ahead of the album, Morrissey has already released his tongue in cheek video for “Spent the Day in Bed.” Following the album’s release, the former Smiths singer will head out on short winter tour through North America to support the new project. Check out the new track below.
