This fresh, indie-pop band, has so much demand for their shows, that there are not one but two concerts for their Chicago fans this November. Bleachers, can now be seen live at the Vic Theatre on November 20th, after the first show at the Riviera sold out.
Bleachers is an American act based out of New York City. Songwriter, record producer, and Fun band member Jack Antonoff, created the side project for music he created while visiting different cities on tour. This music was kept from almost everyone except those who helped create it, until he released the first single “I Wanna Get Better” in 2014. Along with the release of the single, Antonoff unleashed the band’s website, social media profiles, and initial dates for a tour. Thus, Bleachers was officially born.
While only being created within the last few years, much of the act’s influence and sound lends to those of the 1980’s and 1990’s. However, there is still a poppy and renewed edge that is present within the music, that sets the band apart from most indie-pop group’s today.
Even though the act has only released two full-length albums since its creation, there is no shortage of quality tunes within their discography. Bleachers released its first full-length album Strange Desire in 2015, that included the breakout song “I Wanna Get Better”, as well as “Rollercoaster”. Two years later, the act’s most recent album Gone Now was released, including songs such as “Don’t’ Take The Money”, and “Goodmorning”.
See this brilliant act perform all these hits and more next month at the Vic Theatre. The music is groovy, enjoyable, ear-pleasing, and recalls hits of 80’s and 90’s without sounding stale. Accompanied by Bishop Briggs and Amy Shark, the Bleachers: Gone Now Era – Part 2 tour is swinging by Chicago, and you will not want to miss out.
