Richard Hell And The Voidoids Blank Generation 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition for [November 2017 Release

September 1977 – The New York City blackout happens, the Apple II is released, and Elvis Presley dies. Yet, as one star left us, another was born. Richard Hell And The Voldoids debut album Blank Generation came out 40 years ago, and influenced countless musical acts since. In honor of the anniversary, a special deluxe edition will be released with unreleased studio cuts and live recordings.

Blank Generation encapsulated the punk energy and style that would come to define the early New York scene. Rolling Stone went as far as to describe Richard Hell as having invented the haphazard and patchy aesthetic so inseparable from punk music. Their sound was jagged, energizing, and confrontational. The tape dealt in topics of failed romance, drug use, and ostracization from society, all through distorted guitars and wild vocals.

BLANK GENERATION: 40th ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION will be available at independent music retailers worldwide November 24 on CD (limited to 5,250 copies) for $19.98 and vinyl (limited to 4,500 copies) for $31.98.
