Feist Releases Tribute Song “Stranger for Gord” in Honor of the Late Gord Downie

In light of Gord Downie’s recent death, alternative-pop singer Feist has recorded and released a raw, stripped down, song titled, “Stranger for Gord.” The song is a take on Downie’s song “Stranger,” from his recent album Secret Path.

Last year, when Gord was initially diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, the artist released a take on Tragically Hip’s Song “Flamenco” which she titled, “Flamenco for Gord,” in his honor. It too, is a vulnerable and unpolished, acoustic take on the original song.

It is clear that Feist was inspired by her fellow Canadian artist. She took to Twitter to share both the song, and her thoughts on his passing.
