A Perfect Circle Release First New Song In 4 Years “The Doomed”

According to the Rolling Stone, A Perfect Circle finally released their much anticipated new song “The Doomed,” the bands first new song since 2004. The song begins with hypnotic drum beat as frontman Maynard James Keenan eventually chants in “New beginning, new word / And the word was death / And the word was without light.” The dark song attempts to shed light on the way the world condemns the good and praises the sinners. “Doomed are the peaceful, doomed are the merciful,” the song exerts a powerful energy with the drums and instrumentals that move from sinister to a steely rock anthem.

A Perfect Circle is supergroup with members involved in many other notable rock bands. Members Keenan and Jeff Friedl are apart of the band Puscifer. Keenan, who is also the vocalist for Tool recently did an interview about working on new material for the band, who have an extensive song-making process.  James Iha, APC’s guitarist is best known as former guitarist and co-founder of The Smashing Pumpkins, and recently reunited with Billy Corgan to work on a new solo album. Billy Howerdel, founding member of APC, is also a producer for the band Ashes Divide, and bassist Matt McJunkins has performed with Eagles of Death Metal.

“The Doomed” is off of their forthcoming LP, expected to release in 2018. Listen to the new single below.
