Fox News Correspondent Calls Radiohead “Elaborate Moaning and Whining for Ring Tone Sounds”

Controversial views are often shared on The Greg Gutfeld Show (the late night spin off for the conservative news channel Fox News). Recently, hostess Gutfeld, and a couple of his guests shared some of their controversial opinions on music. The group weighed in on the nominees for the 2018 Hall of Fame induction.

One guest, Kat Timpf, had some strong feelings against Radiohead. She predicted that the band would get inducted, but not for talent, but for fame: “Well, seeing its about fame and not talent, I think Radiohead is definitely gonna get in.” Timpf went on to point out how all of the, “strange, malnourished, and sad” men she has dated have liked the group, forcing her to pretend to like them as well. Timpf wrapped off her rant by describing Radiohead’s music as, “…elaborate moaning and whining for ring tone sounds.” If anyone is unsure of Radiohead’s competency as a band, I encourage them to watch Vox Pop’s linked video. There work seems to be anything but “random.”

According to Consequence of Sound, the group went on to bash other nominees such as Nina Simone and LL Cool J. Other nominees for the prestigious honor include: Rage Against the Machine, Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, Judas Presist, Bon Jovi, The Cars, Eurythmics, Dire Straits, J. Geils Band, MC5, The Meters, The Moody Blues, The Zombies, Rufus feat. Chaka Khan, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Link Wray.  The final five will be selected by a vote from fans, music historians, and other notable musicians and people in the music industry. The vote will be announced in December, and the awards will be broadcast by HBO in April. Last years winners included Pearl Jam, Yes, Electric light Orchestra, Journey, Joan Baez and Tupac.

UPDATE (10/27):

Greg and Co. brought up Radiohead once again on their show. Timpf attempted to explain her intent behind her initial comments (see above). Gutfeld satirically added, “Radiohead is a fine band but they stole everything from Coldplay…Radiohead is the poor man’s Coldplay.” Coldplay went along with the banter and jokingly tweeted, “Finally somebody has the balls to say it!”
