If there’s one thing that Julian Casablancas is not, it’s being shy. Casablancas’ band (not the Strokes) Julian Casablancas + the Voidz are currently on the road, playing live gigs for the first time since 2015. The current tour comes to hype fans up for an upcoming studio record, and the band has been showing their cards from the start.
Across their trek, they have been anything but wary of testing out new material on the road. Just a few weeks back, Casablancas and co. were seen debuting a couple previously unheard songs in a secret show in Los Angeles. Throughout the rest of their tour, some fan-caught smartphone camera footage of these new songs are starting to surface online.
There are three songs that have been identified so far, including “Wink,” “We’re Where We Were,” and “Cool As A Ghoul.” All three tracks were part of the songs performed in the secret Los Angeles show, as well as during two recent shows in Colombia. It starts becoming more and more likely that they will become permanent additions to future setlists.
