Exploded View Announce Summer Came Early EP for November 2017 Release and Share Video for New Song “Summer Came Early”

Exploded View has just released a new single/video along with news of an upcoming EP. Both are titled “Summer Came Early.”

Exploded View first hit the music scene in 2016, when they released their self titled album. Their history dates back to 2014 though, when Annike Henderson, a solo singer, met Martin Thulin, Hugo Quezada and Amon Melgarejo who worked as her backing band at one of her shows in Mexico. At the time, each was working with different bands: Thulin with Los Fancy Free and The Crocodiles, Quezada with Robota and Melegarejo with Jessy Bulbo and Not Llamamos, however the four connected and began collbarating as a new cohesive postmodern punk group. Henderson leads the band with her stirring vocals, Thulin contributes dyamic drumming and guitar work, Quezada adds driving bass lines, Melgarejo inserts additional frantic guitar riffs and all members contribute unique and experimental synthesized sounds.

Their upcoming EP, Summer Came Early, will draw unused and unpredictable excerpts from their experimental one-take debut album in addition to adding new sharpened elements. Along with “Summer Came Early,” it will include three other songs titled: “Forever Free,” “Mirror of the Madman,” and “You Got Problem Son.” Fans can preorder the album on Bandcamp for 4 dollars, or purchase it when it is released on November 10th.

Their first single is an ode to the environment. They create a sonic tombstone for the harrowing future of our world. Despite the somber meaning behind the song, it is melodically simple. The combination of soft sounds, and serious lyrics mirrors the paradoxical montage of beautiful blooming flowers, and dangerous nuclear bombs in the music video. It is visually stunning video, full of distinctive colors and shapes and images that blend into one another.
