Sleigh Bells have just released a new single “And Saints” off their upcoming LP Kid Kruschev. The mini-album, set to release on November 10 will be their fifth studio album, after just coming out with Jessica Rabbit almost exactly one year ago. Derek Miller, one half of the band, co-founder and multi-instrumentalists said the following about the album:
“Alexis moved north of Brooklyn recently, somewhere with trees and cliffs, providing us with a new space to write and record without pissing off neighbors, so that’s what we’ve been doing. We didn’t want to wait another year or two to release something. We like the idea of putting out shorter records at a more consistent rate, so we’re gonna give it a shot for a while, see how it feels.”

The noise pop duo’s new single has an unfamiliar subdued tone compared to their other more lively tracks. The song starts off with a soft thrumming guitar as vocalist Alexis Krauss croons, almost pleadingly, “Way from way down south, how far down? We’ll call it J-Town.” Listen to “And Saints” below. Sleigh Bells will be touring their 7-track LP in North America starting early next year.

Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
