Black Veil Brides & Asking Alexandria @ Electric Factory 2/10

Two rock bands from the mid-2000s are coming together for one special unique night. Asking Alexandria and Black Veil Brides are huge rock bands hailing from different countries. Black Veils Brides was formed in Hollywood California while Asking Alexandria are from across the pond in England. BVB began their career back in 2006, two years before Asking Alexandria came onto the scene. Very soon, BVB became known for their use of black makeup and body paint. Asking Alexandria craved themselves in music history with their unique early metalcore music.

BVB’s current lineup includes Andy Biersack, Ashley Purdy, Jinxx, Jake Pitts, and Christan Coma. In 2009, BVB signed with independent music label StandBy Records. It didn’t take long before BVB embarked on their first US tour titled “On Leather Wings”. BVB’s debut album, We Stitch These Wounds, was released in December 2009. The album peaked at no. 1 on Billboard Independent Albums chart while only reaching no. 36 on Billboard Top 200 Chart. Over the years, BVB toured with some of the best metal and rock bands including Sleeping With Sirens, Motionless in White, Avenged Sevenfold, Hollywood Undead, and Motley Crue. BVB also made appearances at Download Festival, Vans Warped Tour, and AP Tour. BVB is set to release a new album, Vale, in 2018 before their tour with Asking Alexandria.

Asking Alexandria has had a few members over the years. Asking Alexandria’s current lineup includes Ben Bruce, Danny Worsnop, James Cassells, Cameron Liddell, and Sam Bettley. Asking Alexandria first released their debut EP, Tomorrow. Hope. Goodbye. back in 2005. The following year, Asking Alexandria released their debut album, The Irony of Your Perfection. Asking Alexandria began touring in support of their albums. In 2011, Asking Alexandria released their highly popular album Reckless & Relentless. Asking Alexandria spent the rest of the year touring with various acts. The band released their next two albums three years apart. Asking Alexandria is set to release a new album in 2017.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
