Sound On Sound Fest 2017 Is Cancelled Due to “Roadblocks Outside of Our Control”

This year’s Sound on Sound Fest, held at Sherwood Forest near Austin, TX has just announced its cancellation. The festival was scheduled to take place November 10-12th featuring some big headlines like Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Grizzly Bear, Iggy Pop and The Shins. According to an official statement from the festivals website, the event was cancelled “due to several recent roadblocks” and that the timeline (to potentially fix the issue) was unrealistic to execute the event as originally planned. The organization stated that they are currently trying to reschedule shows for most of artists that were set to play for Sound on Sound.  Fans who had bought tickets for the festival will have priority in purchasing tickets for any make up shows. They will announce the schedule for those shows on Monday, October 16th.

A refund process has already been established through Eventbrite, and all ticket-holders who purchased tickets through their website will be refunded 100% of the costs of their tickets automatically. Catch some of the official statement below.

“We truly love our fans. We appreciate you sticking by us while we work hard to make this right. Be on the lookout for new show announcements from Sound On Sound Fest artists and ticket links for these replacement shows.”
Sincerely,
Sound On Sound Fest
