Cut Chemist Announces First New Album in 12 Years Die Cut for March 2018 Release

Cut Chemist is mixing up some new music for his first solo LP since 2006’s The Audience Listening. If the announcement of his new LP Die Cut wasn’ t enough to excite fans, he also released an amazing video to his new single, “Work My Mind” featuring J5 member Chali 2na and Hymnal. When asked about the new LP coming out, Cut Chemist said this isn’t the same as the cut-and-paste-style hip-hop. He said he’s collaborating more and sampling less. His content is much heavier now, but it still has a fun twist. It harks back to the energy that is created when live musicians perform, rather than just a DJ alone on stage. That’s the type of music he was trying to form with his new car-banging single “Work My Mind.”

The visuals in the video look like the editor actually cut and paste objects on top of a moving video. Chali and Hymnal rap along to the uptempo beat. Towards the end, though a demonic presence adds a bit of horror to the visuals. See it below:

A few more big names on Die Cut include appearances from Mr. Lif, Biz Markie, Erika Christensen, tUnE-yArDs, Farmer Dave Scher, Dexter Story, and a few more artists. You can expect the full LP to be released sometime in early 2018.
