Cut Copy @ Union Transfer 11/28

Electronic music band Cut Copy was formed way back in 2001. Since then, the band has continued to expand their musical skills as well as their fan base. Cut Copy recently released their latest album, Haiku from Zero late September. Cut Copy reached their first taste of success back in 2008 with their second studio album, In Ghost Colours. Some of Cut Copy’s best well-known singles include, “Take Me Over” and “Hearts on Fire”. Cut Copy’s current lineup includes Dan Whitford, Tim Hoey, Mitchell Scott, Ben Browning, and Kevin Young.

During their early years, Cut Copy began to experiment with different sounds while playing small venues in their hometown of Melbourne. In 2003, Cut Copy began to work on their debut album titled Bright Like Neon Love. The album wasn’t released until a year later. After their first album, Cut Copy began touring alongside Bloc Party, Junior Senior, and The Presets. Cut Copy also made appearances at various music festivals. At least five years would pass before Cut Copy released their second album, In Ghost Colours. The album earned two nominations from various music awards. Cut Copy worked on their next album while touring.

Zonoscope, Cut Copy’s third album was released in 2011. Zonoscope was heavily received in the music world. The album won a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Album. The album is Cut Copy’s second highest selling album to date. The album peaked at no. 5 on Billboard Independent Albums chart. Cut Copy released their fourth album, Free Your Mind, in 2013. Cut Copy is currently touring in support of their new album.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
