After disbanding twice in their long career, once in 1999 and again in 2012, The Jesus Lizard has announced their first tour since 2009. The American rock band formed in 1987 in Austin, Texas and are led by current members David Yow (vocals), Duane Denison (guitar), David Wm. Sims (bass), and Mac McNeilly (drums). Based out of Chicago, they have five studio albums and played hundreds of rowdy live shows. In the late 80’s and early 90’s The Jesus Lizard gained a secure audience thanks in part to a split single with Nirvana, making it to the U.K. singles chart and a spot on Lollapalooza 1995, which led to the band’s signing to Capitol Records. The group has added five additional dates after announcing last month that they would be headlining the Day For Night Festival in Houston, Texas. According to AV Club, The Jesus Lizard will also be playing a show at the acclaimed Chicago rock club Metro’s 35th Anniversary Celebration in December.
The Jesus Lizard’s tour dates:
12/8 – Nashville, TN — Cannery Ballroom
12/9 – Metro – Chicago, IL
12/10 – New York, NY – Irving Plaza
12/14 – Los Angeles, LA – The Fonda Theatre
