Dispatch Announce Fall 2017 An Acoustic Evening with Dispatch Tour

Dispatch has just announced An Acoustic Evening with Dispatch Tour, the band’s first ever acoustic tour, and first tour in five years. They will play two sets of music taking a break for intermission each night. The tour will bring the band to North America in support of their new album America, Location 12. Dispatch is an American indie band led by members Brad Corrigan, Pete Francis Heimbold, and Chad Urmston. The band, based in the Boston area, was originally active from 1996 until 2002.

According to Broadway World, the tour will conclude with three very hearty hometown shows at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club in December, which will include celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Calling All Crows banding together in the fight for women’s rights through service and activism. The band says they are also trying to bring awareness to mental illness on their tour, especially since it hits close to home as their vocalists, bassist and guitarist Pete Heimbold has suffered from depression.

“We’re also going to embrace mental wellness on our tour. Everywhere we’ve gone, we’ve talked about mental illness and depression and how important it is to de-stigmatize it. One of three people in a room would say they struggle with depression which probably actually means one in every two. People don’t like to talk about it. But there’s a lot of light that’s coming in, and we attribute that to Pete’s bravery and vulnerability,” Brad Corrigan stated in a phone interview with The Know.

Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
