For those of you in the know, BT may be a name that seems familiar. The American music producer, born Brian Wayne Transeau, has made his name as a technologist and audio technician, pioneering both the now-ubiquitous “stutter-edit” and entire genres, like trance and IDM.
But what’s more incredible is that he has also created music within many other non-electronic genres, including classical and film composition. So you might be excited to hear that BT has announced that he is writing new music, and it will even be a film score for a Bollywood film.
The film, “Ittefaq,” is a thriller that will be directed by Abhay Chopra and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions. It is an adaptation of the 1969 film by the same name, and stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna.
The announcement by BT actually comes on his birthday, prompting fans to respond with “We’re supposed to be gifting you birthday presents, not the other way around.”
The release is momentous for another reason, according to BT. “It’s really exciting for me because I’ve been told it’s the first time an American composer has scored an Bollywood film” he said in a tweet. ‘Ittefaq’ will be premiering in India in November.
