The Breeders Release Video for First New Song Since 2009 “Wait In the Car”

According to Pitchfork, The Breeders have just released a new song and music video called “Wait in the Car.”  This is the latest sound they have made since their EP Fate to Fatal in 2009.  The edgy rock song starts off with a warm exclamation — “Good morning!” — and then strums into two minutes of head bobbing refrain. The music video stars various bricks combined with over 800 other images, directed by Chris Bigg and Martin Anderson.  “It all started with a brick,” they said of the video. “We both liked the idea of using something iconic yet quite banal. An old brick has a story and it’s a beautiful raw object. We started collecting more and more (some intact, some broken) and realised how different they all appear, each one having its own identity.”

Sister’s Kim Deal (of the Pixies) and Kelley Deal have been the band’s only constant since their formation in 1989. The Breeders have gone through a number of line up changes, but they currently consist of the Deal sister’s, Josephine Wiggs and Jim MacPherson, all together in one place making music. The band will be touring the UK, Europe and North America this October.

Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
