Ryan Adams Releases New Tegan & Sara Cover to “Back In Your Head”

Fans of the indie rock duo Tegan and Sara will have much to celebrate when they release the 10th anniversary of their 2007 album, The Con which catapulted them into a commercial success. The twins have been hard at work making sure the reissue is a success, they have already starting planing an acoustic Fall tour of the record as well as creating a reissue, The Con X: Covers. The record  is a track-by-track rendition of their fifth studio album.

The twins have already shared a track off the album last month when they released a stripped down version of their track “Call It Off” by Chvrches. Now, they are releasing Ryan Adam’s version of their song, “Back in Your Head.” Adam’s take on the track is edgier than the original which was more piano driven. When it comes to covers, it is only as good as what the artist puts forward and like always, Adams puts his heart and soul in his songs. With every shared track that the twins released, there is no doubt that the rest will be just as fun and explosive.

The Con X: Covers is set to be released digitally on October 20th via Warner Bros with a vinyl release set to be available December 22nd. The record will not only feature both Chvrches and Adams, it will also include Grimes, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Bleachers, Cyndi Lauper, Shamir, and more as they contribute covers of the songs off the original record.

Fans who decide to purchase the reissue cover album will be happy to know that all proceeds from the record sales will go to a good cause; the Tegan and Sara Foundation. This is the Quin’s own organization that helps self-identified females in the LGBTQ community and that it supports “economic justice, health, and representation for LGBTQ girls and women.”
