Marilyn Manson Postpones Tour Due To Onstage Injury

A stage prop collapsed on top of Marilyn Manson during his Saturday night concert in New York City. Manson, forty-eight, sustained injuries and left the stage lying on a stretcher instead of surfing on a wave of excited fans. He was treated at a local hospital and will travel home to Los Angeles. In L.A., at his home, Manson will begin his recency. Unfortunately, Manson’s recovery means a few less tour dates in the upcoming days. A statement from Manson’s team reads:

“Manson hopes to return to the stage soon, more details on upcoming shows to follow,” a representative tells Consequence of Sound in a statement. As of now, Manson intends to resume touring in time for an October 15th concert in Grand Prairie, Texas, but obviously those plans are fluid.

It looks like Manson’s injuries are not serious enough to take him off the tour for more than a month. However, the rocker will have to sit a few days out and rest.

Heaven Upside Down, Manson’s latest studio album, is scheduled for release on Friday, October 6th.

Dates between October 2nd and 14th will not occur. Manson hopes to return to the tour in time for Grand Prairie, Texas.

Conrad Brittenham: My name is Conrad. I am one year out of college and pursuing a career in writing and journalism. I studied literature at Bard College, in the Hudson Valley. My thesis focuses on the literal and figurative uses of disease in Herman Melville’s most famous works, including Moby-Dick, Benito Cereno, and Billy Budd. My literary research on the topic of disease carried over to more historical findings about how humans tend to deal with and think about the problem of virus and infectivity. I’ve worked at a newspaper and an ad agency, as well as for the past year at an after school program, called The Brooklyn Robot Foundry. All of these positions have influenced the way I approach my work, my writing, and the way I interact with others in a professional setting. I’ve lived in London and New York, and have always had a unique perspective on international cultural matters. I am an avid drawer and a guitarist, but I would like to eventually work for a major news publication as an investigative journalist.
