Avenged Sevenfold has just released winter North American tour dates for 2018. The band has been busy touring alongside Metallica, as well as headlining their own tour for their new album, Stage. Their summer tour began April 22nd and wrapped up August 16th. In between their own shows with Volbeat and A Day to Remember, they opened for Metallica, released the album (specifically on June 16th) and released new singles.
One single was released traditionally before the album, while all the others were released after the album had already come out. “Malagueña Salerosa,” their first Spanish song, was released on June 9th (just a week before the album came out). Other hits like “Dose,” “God Only Knows,” “As Tears Go By,” Runaway,” and “Retrovertigo,” came after the album was already released. “Dose,” will be used in the mobile game, Dungeon Hunter 5. “God Only Knows,” is a unqiue take on theBeach Boys legendary hit, while “Retrovertigo,” is a cover of Mr. Bungle’s experimental song.
Avenged Sevenfold will perform these newer songs along with older staples at their winter tour which kicks off on January 12th in Nashville. Breaking Benjamin and Bullet for My Valentine will perform with the band as well. Canadian tour dates will be released later in the week. More American dates are still TBD. According to The PRP, fans can expect the band to create elaborate stage production just as they did when they toured overseas. Sometime amidst their tour, the band will have to square away their impending lawsuit against Warner Brothers Music.
