Since the release of her last album The Golden Echo, it’s been three years since the world has gotten new album from New Zealand pop artist Kimbra, but it seems that all of that is about to change. According to Stereogum, the Grammy award winning singer/songwriter plans to release her third album Primal Heart early next year. During her interview with Triple J, she discussed that big names such as Childish Gambino, Skrillex, and Dave Longstreth will be featured on her junior album. But while her fans anxiously anticipate the arrival of her album, Kimbra recently released Primal Heart‘s first single “Everybody Knows.”
Thanks to producer John Congleton, the production of “Everybody Knows” sounds like a pop sound heart rate that increases in sound as Kimbra’s emotions rises. One minute you find Kimbra to be calm reminiscing about being a fool in love then the next minute she explodes telling her old flame that she’s finished with their relationship and everybody knows why. The combination of her jazz influenced voice plus Congleton’s electrifying pop sound make Kimbra’s new single very appealing while adding more excitement for upcoming album Primal Heart.
