Walter Schriefels, AEGES, Gallows and more Join Forces For New Compilation Album For Long Awaited Book xXx Fanzine 1983-88: Hardcore & Punk In The Eighties

Since it’s first publishing, xXx Fanzine was a valuable platform for the early stages of hardcore music. From the beginning of the 1983 to the ending of 1988, magazine documented the rise of the young rock genre that would go on to make a noise that would go on to be loved by many. Through the words of xXx Fanzine‘s creator Mike Gitter, the magazine created a musical and cultural revolution and it seems like Gitter is ready to add more to the hardcore culture and xXx Fanzine‘s legacy by releasing their brand new book xXx Fanzine 1983-88: Hardcore & Punk In The Eighties and compilation album Still Having Their Say this November.

According to a press release, the book xXx Fanzine 1983-88 can be best described as a portrait of music in motion, told through reprinted fanzine pages, hundreds of largely unseen photographs and over 100 then-and-now interviews from key movers including Ian MacKaye, Keith Morris and Milo Aukerman. The pre-order will includes a 64-page, limited accompanying book that reprints all three issues of Gitter’s pre-xXx zine, Suburban Mucus, as well as a clutch of photos and flyers from the golden era of hardcore in Boston that couldn’t fit into the book itself. In addition to the book will also be two posters and a limited vinyl pressing of a 19-song compilation called Still Having Their Say that will feature hardcore acts such as Walter Schriefels, AEGES, Gallows and many more.
