Preceding the release of their sophomore album, Losing, Bully has released a new song, “Kills To Be Resistant.” The song deals with the emotional complication of unrequited love, and how one suppresses their feelings. The name, “Kills To Be Resistant” refers to the resistence of staying away from someone who doesn’t want you. “I stare at your picture, it makes me hopeful. I’m glad for your existence.When I’m around you, I try to keep my distance, I try to be respectful, it hurts to be distant.”
This is the third song released off of Losing, following “Running” and “Feel The Same.” Early reviews on Losing are positive, and has been featured on many music outlets in advance of it’s release. Wired Magazine called the album “full of tough-earned wisdom and egalitarian rage, Losing is a high-energy, high-impact emotional workout for everyone involved.” New York Magazine said that lead singer Alicia Bognanno “has the loveliest snarl this side of Nirvana’s Live at Reading.”
In addition to the new song, Bully has extended their tour dates in North America. Starting on November 2nd in St Louis, they will be playing 37 shows in North America and the UK. Three of which will be in their native Nashville.
Losing will be released on Sub Pop worldwide on October 20th, and is currently available for pre-order on their webstore.
