If there is one band in the early 2000s that struck a chord with the world and was on countless of high school kids playlists, it was the indie rock band, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. When the ground-breaking debut of Yeah Yeah Yeahs was released back in April of 2003, it hit the world by storm and turned the indie music scene upside down. Now, 14 years later, the band have announced they are releasing a vinyl reissue of their album stated to be released October 20th through Interscope Records / UMe and fans couldn’t be happier.
Regarding the vinyl reissue of Fever To Tell in a recent press release, the band stated, “A friend of a friend kept asking if we were ever gonna put Fever To Tell out on vinyl as it hasn’t been on vinyl in 10 years. That’s not right. So here it is on vinyl for the first time in 10 years plus a time capsule of photos, demos (1st ever recorded,) a mini film documenting our near downfall and other fun memorabilia, from the turn of the century NYC, made with love + the usual blood, sweat + tears of Yeah Yeah Yeahs.”
Fever to Tell had the honor of being influential in shaping the indie scene at the time. Before releasing their debut record, Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase had already made themselves a force to recon with on stage; the record allowed the band to play crazy rock music one second and then hushed ballads the next. It was a whirlwind of chaotic beauty in one single record. Even today as it celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2018, Fever to Tell still has the power to draw up emotions and stir the heart.
To celebrate the reissue of the iconic breakthrough record, Fever To Tell, the band have officially announced that they will be doing two exclusive shows at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on October 25th and the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on November 7th. In addition of these two exclusive performances, the band have sets at a couple of 2017 festivals including Long Beach, California’s Growlers 6 Festival and Austin, Texas’ Sound on Sound Festival. These shows will mark the first time in four years that the indie rock band have performed live. Check out the full list of tour dates below.
