Kurt Vile + Courtney Barnett Offer A Slice of Life in New Video for “Continental Breakfast”

Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett serve up a glimpse into their everyday life in “Continental Breakfast” music video.  The new song is taken from their upcoming album Lotta Sea Lice. The acoustic based song features both artists singing about what seems to be real account of their life and relationship from the perspective of Vile and Barnett themselves.  “I cherish my intercontinental friendships…” indie-rock sensation Barnett croons in “Continental Breakfast” – a short time later psychedelic-rock sensation Kurt Vile adds, “Somewhere on the sphere around here.” The song suitably carries the listener into the link between musicians whose personal lives reside on opposite sides of the world, Barnett in Australia and Vile in the U.S., but who share a ridiculous amount of experiences of fame and life on the road.

The music video features a homey and authentic take of Vile and Barnett’s friends and family.  Jen Cloher, Barnett’s girlfriend and prominent Australian singer-songwriter, AMP and ARIA nominated recording artist and co-founder/label-manager of Milk! Records, founder of ‘I Manage My Music’ makes an appearance in an endearing scene. From bowling alleys to sharing popsicle’s in the backyard with Vile’s daughters, the video is a truly intimate look at what we can only assume is a genuine display of everyday life for the collaborative pair.  The cozy video can be seen below.

Kurt and Courtney will be on tour for Lotta Sea Lice in North America this fall.

I composed music for a few months in college while living in New York which further sparked my passion for a career in the music industry. Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
