Billy Corgan Plays Smashing Pumpkins Song “Sweet Sweet” For the First Time in 23 Years

A story from Spin reveals that Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins has been on Facebook Live playing one song a day in the anticipation of his new solo studio album called Ogilala.

He posted a live Facebook video performing the band’s song “Sweet Sweet,” a song that he hasn’t played with the Smashing Pumpkins in 24 years since a 1994 show in Carson, California. “Sweet Sweet” is a record from the album Siamese Dream, which was released in 1993.

He streamed the video from Madame Zuzu’s tea house that he owns in Chicago, playing the piano while reading lyrics off an iPad. Prior to performing “Sweet Sweet,” he streamed “Smiley” for the first time since 1993, and “I Fall” was also played for the first time in almost 20 years.

The promotion of his new album includes live streaming as well as a silent film set to new music from the album.

I composed music for a few months in college while living in New York which further sparked my passion for a career in the music industry. Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
