The English pop band, The Kooks, have recently postponed their North American headline tour. The recent change has caused fans to be a little discouraged. The band, though, have reassured it’s not forever. In fact, The Kooks have changed their tour dates and rescheduled them for May of next year. Fans who have purchased tickets for their previous dates should not worry, they will still remain valid for the new dates as well. There will also be refunds available for those who would like to receive their money back. For a full list of the new tour dates, check out the list below.
In a video posted on their official Facebook page, the band shared a sincere message for their fans.
“We’re sorry to say we have unfortunately had to postpone our upcoming tour until next spring. We’re deep into recording our new album at the moment, and we’re super keen to have it done in time to give you guys the first listen on the rescheduled dates next year. Unfortunately, however, next month is the only time we have available to finish recording. We’re so, so excited about coming to play these new songs (and the oldies too!) for you, and we hope you understand. We’re very sorry, and we love you dearly!
All tickets will remain valid for their corresponding show, though refunds are available from point of purchase. Unfortunately we have not been able to reschedule the New Haven and Sacramento shows, but we’ll keep on trying!”
The reason behind the change of schedule is because the band are right in the middle of recording their fifth studio album. According to the video message, The Kooks are really diving into the creative process right now and are in a creative vibe that they dare not break. It is stated that by the time the new shows roll around next spring, the band will be performing the new album for fans throughout the US.
This past May, the Kooks released a collection of greatest hits titled The Best Of…So Far.” The Kooks have been together for 10 years and they are celebrating that fact with the new collection that includes such hits as “Naive,” “She Moves In Her Own Way,” and “Bad Habit.” The album not only holds some fan favorites but also features two brand new songs showcasing that the Kooks are still rocking it out after all these years. One of the new singles is “Be Who You Are,” which has been getting praise from fans and critics alike. TIME stated that it is “one of their most instantly likable tunes… there’s something refreshing about their brand of sunny, uncomplicated rock.”
