British electronic group Metronomy have announced a select number of tour dates in the US this fall, which will see the group supporting their wildly successful 2016 release, Summer 08. That album contained a number of noteworthy collaborations, such as the elegant and smooth “Hang Me out to Dry” featuring Robyn, and a collaboration with Mixmaster Mike in the form of “Old Skool.”
The band will be making an appearance at this year’s HoC Fest in Miami and then darting across the county for shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. With most of the dates selling out in quick succession, fans are no doubt excited to see the group perform as they have not toured the US in quite some time.
Bandleader Joe Mount is excited to bring the band’s high energy stage show to American audiences and perform songs from Summer 08, a record that harkens back to the nostalgia Mount felt about the time in his life before Metronomy took off after the release of their 2008 release, Nights Out. The 08 in the title references the last summer Mount had off from touring commitments as Metronomy have been performing and recording almost nonstop since the release of Nights Out. In order to spend more time with his family, Mount has cut down on Metronomy’s touring in recent years, making it very likely that these dates will be the group’s only performances in the United States for the foreseeable future.
