Marilyn Manson has announced that he and Nine Inch Nail’s frontman Trent Reznor, ending their year long feud. The reason they mended ways with each other was interestingly enough the HBO series The Defiant Ones, which talks about the legendary Dr. Dre’s relationship with Interscope co-founder Jimmy Lovine.
Manson tells Beats 1 Radio Host Zane Lowe, “I liked The Defiant Ones because it also made me think about Trent and made me reach out to him because he’s the one who actually sent me an e-mail and we had sort of mended ways after a long time,” he added, “He emailed me and said, ‘So, I’m just passing this along from Jimmy, so I can say I did it.’ He goes, something along the lines of, ‘Even if it pisses me off that music’s not dangerous anymore, it reminds me of how great you were and I was and that era.”
“Understand it was obviously huge to me,” Manson continues. “And to have Trent Reznor, meet him and interview him and him sign me [changed] my life. All of the past any sort of squabbles or any arguments just went away just seeing that in The Defiant Ones and him telling me about it.”
Marilyn Manson’s new album Heaven Upside Down, is coming out October 6th.
