As reported by Pitchfork, The legendary Sinead O’ Connor recently sat down with Dr. Phill on his 16th season premiere. The singer opened up about her mental health struggles and her abusive childhood. She also talked about her radical hysterectomy in 2015. She said, “I was told to leave the hospital two days after the surgery with Tylenol and no hormone replacements and no guidance as to what might happen to me,” she said. “I was flung into surgical menopause. So hormones were everywhere and I became very suicidal. I was a basket case.” Check out the clips from her interview below.
The interview comes after O’Connor posted a video on Facebook opening up about her mental health issues. O’Connor and those close to here assured fans that the singer was in a much better place.
