Mutemath Releases New Song “Break The Fever”

Mutemath, who are currently on a falll tour,  has released new song “Break The Fever”. This will be a part of Play Dead.

According to the press release, Huffington Post ” “With glistening synths and spell-binding vocals, it’s the perfect midweek pick-me-up that you didn’t even know you needed. It may feel like summer is over, but with ‘Break The Fever,’ the party has only just begun!”

The song talks about internal struggles and how one deals with them, specifically how the lead singer Paul Meany deals with them. This idea helps shape the concept of the album, in general, as Meany states ““The whole mantra of this album came from this song in the line “play dead, don’t be afraid tonight.” Playing dead became a picture of meditation for me. How to turn off the noise and realign myself back to a sense of well being. How to evade the very thing that’s trying to kill me. Thoughts. If I can get control of those, I’ve got a chance.”

The song is filled with the use of techno and drums, with little strums of electronic guitar. Even with the topic the lyrics talk about, the beat still gives a moving mood. The song can be listened to below.
