Levitation Festival Will Finally Return in 2018 After Cancellation in 2016 and Hiatus in 2017

Levitation festival (formerly known as Austin Psych Fest) was an annual three-day music festival in Austin, TX. The festival was first inspired by the explosion in music during the 60’s, and over the decades has grown to a world-renowned event that draws artists and guests from all over the world. In 2015, the festival was renamed to Levitation in honor of Austin’s psych rock godfathers, the 13th Floor Elevators.

Artists such as The Flaming Lips, Primal Scream, Tame Impala and Flying Lotus have all made appearances on the festival’s stage. Whether it be Levitation Austin, France, or Chicago or Vancouver, the festival’s organizers, The Reverberation Appreciation Society, continued to bring in top talent anywhere they set up shop.

However in November of 2016, festival organizers announced that the festival would be cancelled due to last minute weather concerns, and then never returned in 2017, though they hosted their own party at SXSW this year. Now, it appears that the festival will make comeback in 2018. While details and a lineup are yet to be announced, fans can mark their calendars for the event to come back April 26-29 of next year!
