Once again Goldenvoice is providing another throwback show for the books. Thrice and Circa Survive are heading on tour with support from Balance and Composure and CHON this November. For Angelenos, Nov. 3 at the Shrine Expo Hall is the date to look out for if you’re planning on copping a ticket. The fall tour is set to kick off that night with dates spanning across the North America and Canada, according to Alternative Press. Circa Survive are releasing their new record, The Amulet, Sept. 22 and are likely touring in support of the new album. Thrice’s most recent album, To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere, was released May last year with favorable reviews.
Thrice, a post-hardcore band, established in 1998 in Irvine, California. The quartet practiced in different venues throughout high school that helped them acquire their own sound early. Their first LP, Identity Crisis, came out in 2000, after a short year of garnering enough material to work with. In 2002 the Illusion of Safety album was released. After a stint of touring The Artist in The Ambulance (2003) was released with favorable reviews, peaking at number 16 on the Billboard 200. Their fourth album Vheissu (2005) introduced an electronic and experimental feel to the band’s sound. Thrice has put out four more albums: The Alchemy Index (2007/08), Beggars (2009), Major/Minor (2011) and To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere. All of their albums have a portion of their proceeds donated to a charitable cause.
Circa Survive is a Philadelphia rock band that formed in 2004. The band has been releasing consistent music with frontman Anthony Green since 2005 with the release of Juturna. Their second album, On Letting Go, came out just two years later on Equal Vision Records. The next album, Blue Sky Noise (2010), came out via Atlantic Records to critical acclaim. Their fourth album, Violent Waves (2012), was released independently. Their fifth album, Descensus (2014), was released through Sumerian Records with favorable reviews.
Balance and Composure, a Pennsylvania alternative rock band, formed in 2007 after 2 local Doylestown bands disbanded. The band, who has been putting out consistent music since their inception, is often compared to the likes of Title Fight, Nirvana, and Brand New. They’ve released three studio albums, Separation (2011), The Things We Think We’re Missing (2013), Light We Made (2016), and five EPs since coming together. Their second album The Things We Think We’re Missing broke onto mainstream charts, peaking at number 51 on the Billboard 200.
CHON is a San Diego progressive math rock band established in 2008. The band is widely known for being mostly instrumental, with few vocal performances. After releasing a demo and two EPs, CHON signed to Sumerian Records in 2014. In 2015 they released their debut album, Grow. The album peaked at number 13 on the Independent Albums charts and broke onto the Billboard 200, peaking at number 122 on the charts. In 2017 they released the album Homey, the first not featuring their long-time bassist Drew Pelisek.
