Foster The People is an indie-pop band from Los Angeles, California. Front-man Mark Foster had moved to LA after high-school to try to dig himself into the music industry. Years later, he finally formed the band in 2009; his friend Mark Pontius joined as the drummer and his long-time friend Cubbie Fink was added as the bassist. Foster & The People was the original name of the band til it shortly became Foster The People.
In 2011, the band released a self-titled EP that would soon be a part of their debut album Torches. They both featured the top hit “Pumped Up Kicks” that would mark their name on several charts. In all, the group has released three records. Sacred Hearts Club is the third record that was out on July 21 via Columbia Records. This record shows a different side of Foster The People adding electronic tones into their music.
