Throbbing Gristle Announce 40th Anniversary Reissue of Debut Album The Second Annual Report and Future Releases of Further Catalog

2017 seems to be a splendid year for legendary group Throbbing Gristle. Earlier this year the English music/visual art group announced that they had partnered up with Mute Records to make their entire discography available to all streaming services for the first time ever. It was the initial stage of Mute releasing the band’s entire classic catalog physically and digitally. Well now that the digital release has been set Throbbing Gristle plans on putting their focus on physical copies of their classic albums and what better way to do that than to start on the same date that their musical journey began. Late in the fall on November 3rd, Throbbing Gristle will begin their series of reissued versions of their timeless projects while celebrating their 40th anniversary of their debut album The Second Annual Report.

The beginning of this November will mark 40 years since the world was introduced to Chris Carter, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and the late Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson who passed away 7 years ago on November 25th. It was then when the four music minds released their debut album The Second Annual Report, an album that pioneered a new genre called “industrial music” that immensely impacted music, culture and the arts that is still felt till this day. Throbbing Gristle will present The Second Annual Report as a limited edition white vinyl release in the original packaging and also on double CD. The group will also release their 3rd & critically acclaimed album 20 Jazz Funk Greats as a limited edition white vinyl release in the original packaging and also on double CD. The Taste Of TG: A Beginner’s Guide to Throbbing Gristle will also accompany these releases with an updated tracklisting that will include “Almost A Kiss” (from 2007’s Part Two: Endless Not). It will be the first time The Taste Of TG will be available on vinyl and presented on double red vinyl alongside a CD and digital release.

November will not be the ending of Throbbing Gristle reissuing versions of their classic industrial albums. Late next winter on January 26, 2018 the group will drop new versions of albums of theirs such as D.o.A. The Third And Final Report, Heathen Earth and Part Two: Endless Not. Throbbing Gristle will follow up in the spring on April 27, 2018 by sharing reissued copies of Mission Of Dead Souls, Greatest Hits, Journey Through A Body and In The Shadow Of The Sun. Below you can checkout Throbbing Gristle’s debut single “United” and listen how these music minds were able to impact the world for decades.
