Amanda Palmer Helps Houston Relief With New Song “Drowning In The Sound”

There are few words that can describe the horror that Hurricane Harvey has brought upon the city of Houston in the last couple of days.  Houses were ruined, possessions were destroyed, thousands of people turned homeless, and some even lost their lives. With all this chaos it is hard to imagine how Houston will recover, however, there has been a huge resurgence from celebrities everywhere who are coming to help with the relief any way the can.

Singer-songwriter Amanda Palmer, who recently released a new music video, is an artist who is using her music platform to help those in needs. Springing into action in just two days, she has written and released a brand new track titled “Drowning In The Sound” to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The piano based ballad was put together using input/inspiration/comments from over 600 patrons as a songwriting exercise. Amanda Palmer commented “The song wound up being a response to the insanity of internet politics melded with the recent total eclipse and the devastation of Hurricane Harvey…and y’know…other stuff”

Palmer has made the song available for purchase on her website for $1, free streaming available as well, with 100% from the download of this song until September 30th will support the Texas Diaper Bank to help victims of Hurricane Harvey across Texas.
