The legendary metal band Metallica surprised fans with an announcement that they will reissue their groundbreaking album Master of Puppets on November 10th through own label Blackened Recordings. The reissue is officially available for pre-order at www.metallica.com. The album has been Fans who decide to pre-order the classic album will get an instant download of the band’s classic song, “Disposable Heroes”.
Master of Puppets first came out on March 3rd, 1986, and went on to become the first Metallica album to be certified Platinum by the RIAA. The album has since then been certified 6x Platinum in America and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Last year, Master of Puppets has paved the way for other metal bands and became the first metal album to be added to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress, an honor granted to works deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
The Master of Puppets reissue will be available physically as a Standard LP, Standard CD, 3 CD Expanded Edition, and Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set and digitally as a Standard CD, a 3 CD Expanded Edition, and a Digital Deluxe Box Set. If you choose to get the Expanded Edition you’re going to get a ton of cool stuff. It includes previously unreleased demos, rough mixes, interviews, live tracks, and a 28-page booklet.
