After years of being on hiatus, the recently reunited Canadian band is back with a new album. Wolf Parade has revealed that the new album titled Cry Cry Cry will be released on October 6th via Sub Pop and will be the band’s first album in seven years. The band has previously shared the first single from the album called “Valley Boy” and now are back with a brand new single off the upcoming new album titled “You’re Dreaming.”

The single, according to a press release was inspired by the 2016 U.S. presidential election, stating “‘You’re Dreaming’ is urgent power pop with lyrics inspired by the shock and confusion following the 2016 election (‘All these scenes of shattered glass / All your systems in collapse’).”

The indie rock band was formed in 2004 in Montreal and features band members Spencer Krug (Moonface, Sunset Rubdown), Dan Boeckner (Handsome Furs, Divine Fits, Operators), Arlen Thompson, and Dante DeCaro. During their career, they have released three albums for Sub Pop including Apologies to the Queen Mary in 2005, At Mount Zoomer in 2008, and Expo 86 in 2010. Wolf Parade then went on hiatus for five years before returning last year with brand new shows. Following the hiatus, Sub Pop released an extended version of Apologies to the Queen Mary. Wolf Parade then released a brand new Ep simply titled EP4 through the band’s own production.

The album Cry Cry Cry that features the two tracks “You’re Dreaming” and “Valley Boy” was produced by John Goodmanson at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle and mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound in New York. It will be available to purchase on a variety of formats including CD /2xLP/DL via Sub Pop on October 6th. Pre-order of the album is now available here
