John Maus Announces Addendum Box Set and New Album Screen Memories for October 2017 Release and Shares New Single “The Combine”

John Maus has announced detailed for a new album, Screen Memories, to be released on October 27th via Ribbon Music. Also, Maus has also released details for a career spanning six LP box set that will contain his previous three albums plus Screen Memories plus an album of rarities and an entirely new series of recordings titled Addendum. The box set is available for pre-order now and will ship in April 2018.

The release of Screen Memories will be the first album for Maus since 2011’s We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves. During the six year break between albums, Maus returned to school to finish up his doctorate in political philosophy, all the while building his synthesizers and working in his recording studio at his home in Minnesota.

Maus has also released the first single from Screen Memories, the bouncing synth-driven “The Combine.” Musically speaking the track features a combination of vintage synthesizer tones, throbbing bass, propulsive drum beats ethereal bells and Maus’ own low and brooding delivery. The harmonic structure of the song at times conjures up Renaissance era classical music, giving it a distinct sound.
